It's been 2 weeks since my last blog entry. You know what that means - it's tax season! Our clients have finally decided to submit their tax information, so I've been super busy with work. There is only a month left of busy season, which is scary and exciting at the same time. These next 4 weeks are going to be BUSY!
So you may be wondering what has Abby been doing? Two weeks ago, I logged 60 charge hours and ran 30 miles. This week, I only ran 19 miles and had 62 charge hours. Hopefully next week will be better with running! Also, I've been waking up at 4:30/4:45am each morning. That is starting to get harder and harder to do each day. When I wake up, I immediately check my email to see what kind of damage or fire drills are occurring in the US. They are just ending their day, so my inbox is being filled with massive amounts of emails. I gotta get to work early if I need to talk to the US. My new friend in India is named Coffee. We are starting to become besties.
On Friday, I did sleep in. However, when I say sleep in, I mean I woke up at 5:15am. I don't even know what to say about that. When I'm not working, I'm either working out or exploring Hyderabad. There are 7 other rotators here with me that I've been hanging out with. The routine lately has been to go out to dinner on Friday nights as a group because doing in room dining for the 5th nigh in a row gets old and I definitely don't want to feel like a loser eating alone on a Friday night. On Saturdays, I usually go to work and then come back by 4 or 5pm and run 8 or 9 miles on the treadmill and then all of the rotators go out "clubbin". Clubs in India have been very fun, especially when they start playing bollywood music and I get to do my sweet bollywood dance moves.
There is a cafeteria in our office and I usually go to breakfast with my USI people at least twice a week. I would do it evey day, except I don't want to gain like 20 pounds while I'm here. I probably will anyways because of all that biryani, curries, paneer, naan, etc. In South India (where Hyderabad is located), they eat dosa and uttahpam for breakfast. For those of you not familiar with Indian cuisine, in the city (SF), we usually eat dosa for dinner, so learning that they eat it for breakfast was a surprise. Dosa is sort of like a crunchy crepe and you dip it in sambar which is like spicy gravy. Uttahpam is like a big pancake. They fill it with spices and onions and you also dip it in sambar or chutney. It is very delish!
